Before modern plastic guitar picks came about in the early 20th Century, rock and roller’s used bone, wood, metal. In some case’s, musician’s even have used coin picks. But which company makes the most popular one’s nowadays? Dunlap, Clayton, and Fender are all great choices.
Dunlap is a good brand to buy. The Dunlap Tortex, for example, has a long life with four unique edges. Their Tortex Three is an evolved version of this brand, and the Dunlap Tortex Jazz is a smaller pick that improves alternate picking.
Clayton USA is also a great place to get quality picks. Their Ultem picks, for example, are great even when your strings are a little dull. They have them available in standard, rounded triangle, and small teardrop sizes, and is also the pick that’ll most closely resemble the tortoiseshell sound that so many guitarists long for.
Fender also makes a very good guitar pick. They are popular for the heavy ones. The Vintage Fender tort Celluliod Pick, The Fender White Heavy, and the 1970 Fender Pink Heavy are some of the company’s quality examples. Also, their acetal picks produce clean overtones, and have a crisp surface, for when you’re rocking out and getting extra sweaty on stage.
